About

My name is David Milligan and I’ve been forced to use computers for over 25 years.

Before that, I used a typewriter, a grease pencil and a razor blade. razor1 Simpler times.

That was for editing the tapes of radio shows for the CBC. I was a producer of hundreds of comedy programs, music shows, and dramas.

I worked on The Royal Canadian Air Farce, The Frantics, Eclectic Circus, Rumours and Boarders, among dozens of other series and specials.

When my writers started using computers in the early 80’s, I had to get with a different kind of program.

I mostly learned about computers by trying to make 2 things work: scripts and video games.
Which are basically about creative ideas and hardware, respectively.

Before long, I was the “computer guy” in the department, helping out my fellow broadcasters (the poor souls).

In 1998, I moved to the private sector and became Director of I.T. for a Tier One automotive supplier. I handled the Y2K scare, and the increase of computers from about 6 to 200 in number. If terms like EDI, barcoding, SQL, Exchange, T3 lines, and General Motors and Customer Portals, mean anything to you then you’ll appreciative the ground I had to cover in that biz.

Now I am happiest serving people in the Greater Toronto Area for just about any computer problem or question they can throw at me.

It’s great to get around and meet new people and talk about what they’re using their computers for. It’s never just about the machines.

  1. Hello,
Tons of info there on your site. Took down your coordinates at St. Clair copy. I have a pink mini -i.e., HP pc which is functional for the most part, but I think needs a tune up, or new spark plugs. As do I. I have several questions written down on a piece of paper.
I live in the neighbourhood – Wychwood. Ave.
Can you tell me your fees please, even approximately.
    Thank you,
    Dianne
